Many factors determine a system’s energy production on a rooftop, compared to its energy production in standard testing conditions. Your solar professional may have provided a production estimate using estimation tools like PVWatts. Estimation tools consider many factors such as location, seasonal variation, roof pitch, wiring, and electrical losses to calculate production estimates.
You can use the following formula for a simple estimate:
DC system size (kW) × hours of sun/day × system efficiency = estimated AC daily energy production
Example:
5 kW × 5 hr/day × 0.77 = 19.25 kWh/day
You can pair Enphase IQ8 Series Microinverters with bifacial solar modules if they are electrically compatible and installed according to the Quick Installation Guide supplied with the microinverters.
In case there is no mandatory regulation for inverter sizing by the local utilities, use the microinverter sizing methodology of a conventional monofacial module; however, you can use the real power, or the gained power, rather than the nominal power of the bifacial solar module. For example, if a 20% gain is expected, then refer to the module output parameters associated with the 20% gain instead of the nameplate rating of the module.
You can always use the Enphase Module Compatibility calculator to feed-in the module output parameters and check the compatibility.
Microinverters with integrated MC4 connectors will not be shipped with a Q-DCC-2 adapter cable, as they are no longer necessary.

Enphase IQ8 Series Microinverters are compatible with the existing IQ cabling system, which is currently being used with existing IQ6 and IQ7 Series Microinverters and provides a similar installer experience.
Yes, all system owners will utilize the same app, irrespective of system type. Owners with multiple systems can access all their Enphase systems from a single login to the Enphase App.
Yes, all microinverters will eventually have integrated MC4 connectors. Enphase is gradually transitioning each inverter in a phased manner.
Yes, you will use the same commissioning and monitoring application for commercial systems, and you will be able to monitor your entire fleet of installed systems—irrespective of individual site type or microinverter.
It doesn't use an external bulkhead adapter, so the overall cable is a bit less. However, module leads are typically 4 to 6 feet long, or 1.2 to 1.6 meter long, so the impact is minimal.
All IQ8 Series Microinverters have an operating range of 184 V to 276 V L-N AC voltage.
There are no special instructions for microinverters with integrated MC4 connectors. Follow the same installation practices as outlined in the Enphase installation manual.
On cloudy or rainy days, your system produces less energy compared to days with a clear sky. The impact of clouds on your system’s energy production varies depending on the cloud cover and the duration it obscures sunlight over your panels during the day.
Maximum energy is produced when the sky is bright and clear—especially if the angle of the panels towards the sun is optimal and the temperature is cool, since solar panels work more efficiently in lower temperatures. If the weather is clear but production is still low, check for dirt, snow, shade, or debris on the surface of the solar panels.

PV modules seldom produce power at their test condition power rating. This leads installers to pair PV modules with power ratings higher than the inverter power rating. In many locations, high DC:AC ratios may not result in significant clipping losses. To learn more, refer to the technical brief, which can be accessed at https://enphase.com/en-in/download/iq7a-why-my-pv-module-rating-larger-my-inverter-rating.
The Enphase Energy System brings solar, microinverter, and software together in one complete package so that you can make, use, save, and sell your own power. To learn more, see the video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kAH9odfOCHs.

The RMA process for IQ8 Series microinverters remains the same. (1) Call Enphase-India Customer Support, or (2) Trigger the RMA process through the Enphase App, Installer App, or Enphase Installer Platform.
Yes. Existing IQ Gateway, IQ Relay, and all existing IQ-cables will work with IQ8 Series microinverters.
The IQ8 Series Microinverters are certified with BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards).
Yes. The training courses can be found here.
The installation process and commissioning process remain the same. IQ8 Series microinverters must be commissioned using Installer App version 3.31 or above. Please refer to the video to understand the commissioning steps.
IQ Gateway does not support combining IQ8 Series microinverters with Enphase previous-generation microinverters.
IQ Gateway does not support combining IQ8 Series microinverters with Enphase previous generation microinverters. However, you can install IQ8 Series microinverters on a separate gateway unless your system requires a power export limit. Please ensure that you review your system design with our Enphase Sales/FAEs/customer support.
Yes. Please ensure that you review your system design with our Enphase Sales/FAE team before installing/commissioning the system.
These microinverters have a 15- years of limited warranty. This can be extended to 20 or 25 years. You can find the warranty document here.
Yes
The datasheets can be found here.
IQ8HC and IQ8P are the two microinverters models available under the IQ8 series. Please refer to the technical specifications .
Approximately 300 microinverters. Please get in touch with the Enphase sales/technical team for commercial system design.
IQ8HC: 9; IQ8P: 7 microinverters per branch.
IQ8HC is a 384 VA microinverter compatible with panels having a capacity of 560Wp.
IQ8P is a 480 VA microinverter compatible with panels with a capacity of up to 670Wp.
There is no enforced DC/AC ratio or maximum input power. Modules can be paired as long as the maximum input voltage is not exceeded and the maximum input current of the inverter at the lowest and highest temperatures is respected. See the compatibility calculator at https://enphase.com/en-in/installers/microinverters/calculator
The main difference is the output power. IQ7A is a 366VA Microinverter, and IQ8HC and IQ8P are 384VA and 480VA microinverters, respectively. Also, IQ8 Series microinverters offer a higher DC current capability of 14A, making them compatible with the new generation of high-powered PV modules.
